Thunder and Tranquility: A Gamelan Journey invites audiences into a distinctly Balinese worldview, which embraces contrast not as conflict, but as essential balance. In Balinese Hindu tradition, opposing forces such as good and evil are not mutually exclusive, but interdependent, coexisting in a dynamic equilibrium. Rather than striving to eliminate darkness, life is devoted to maintaining harmony between all elements.

This philosophy comes alive through music and movement in Friends of the Gamelan's (FROG's) newest program, shifting between intensity and serenity.
